# Ildokwan Taekwondo - Business Description

Ildokwan Taekwondo is Bristol's premier martial arts academy specialising in authentic, traditional and practical Chung Do Kwan Taekwondo. Under the leadership of 9th Dan Grand Master Andy Davies—a nine-time British Champion, European Silver Medallist and World Martial Arts Hall of Fame inductee—the school offers training for men, women and children of all ages and abilities.

What sets Ildokwan apart is its direct lineage to the founding roots of Taekwondo. The school is officially affiliated with Chung Do Kwan, one of the original founding kwans established in 1944, and maintains direct certification and communication with the World Taekwondo Chung Do Kwan Federation in Korea. It is the only officially approved Practical Taekwondo Academy in the region, emphasising functional, combat-ready martial arts over sport-based training alone.

The academy's approach combines rigorous technical training with real-world self-defence application, drawing on the legacy of Kim Bok-man, a technical founder of Taekwondo and key mentor to Chief Instructor Andy Davies.
