# Glasgow Thai Boxing Academy
Glasgow Thai Boxing Academy is a community-focused Muay Thai gym located in Glasgow's West End that makes Thai Boxing accessible to people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. They serve both local community members and students from across Glasgow and beyond, welcoming complete beginners through to competitive fighters.
The Academy teaches Muay Thai, known as "The Science of Eight Limbs" for its use of hands, feet, knees and elbows in a complete body workout. Beyond self-defence training, they position Muay Thai as an exciting full-contact sport and comprehensive fitness programme suitable for all genders.
What sets them apart is their commitment to flexible, judgment-free membership without costly forced fees—instead, coaches match their investment in students to the commitment shown. Their recently refurbished gym features a professional boxing ring, extensive equipment including pads, bags, kick shields and kettlebells, plus substantial matted areas. They actively welcome crossover students from other martial arts disciplines including Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Kung Fu, boxing and Ju-Jitsu.
The Academy offers specialised classes catering to different age groups and ability levels, alongside personalised one-to-one coaching where instructors tailor sessions to individual goals and weaknesses. Their philosophy prioritises accessibility and community engagement whilst maintaining serious training standards for those pursuing competitive boxing.
