# Springwater Taekwondo

Springwater Taekwondo is a community-based martial arts club located in Sheffield S12, offering authentic Korean Taekwondo instruction to children, teenagers and adults. Operating since 2002 from Springwater Catholic Community Centre, the club has established itself as a pillar of the local Hackenthorpe, Beighton and Mosborough communities.

Led by a qualified 4th Dan Master Instructor, the club welcomes complete beginners aged nine and upwards, regardless of fitness level or prior experience. Classes run Saturday mornings from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM and follow a structured syllabus combining warm-ups, stretching and progressive technique training. The instruction emphasises both physical development and mental discipline, teaching practical self-defence, confidence-building and anti-bullying resilience alongside traditional martial arts skills.

What distinguishes Springwater is its genuine community ethos. As a non-profit organisation, all surplus income supports local registered charities. Members describe the club as feeling like family rather than a commercial enterprise, with long-serving participants becoming instructors themselves. The instructors maintain a patient, supportive approach that encourages personal goal achievement whilst preserving fun and camaraderie.

The club balances hard work with accessibility, welcoming students to progress at their own pace through belt rankings. With over two decades of continuous operation and BMABA certification, Springwater represents serious Taekwondo instruction delivered with genuine care for member wellbeing and community benefit.
